Sign the document in the mObywatel app

Every user of the mObywatel app has the option of signing documents using a qualified signature. Documents submitted to the Agency can be signed electronically by users who have an ID card with an electronic layer, an active personal signature certificate, a 6-digit PIN (known as PIN2), and a phone with NFC functionality and the latest version of the app.

A qualified signature submitted in the mObywatel app is equivalent to a handwritten signature.

  • You can sign up to 5 documents per month free of charge.
  • With a qualified signature, you can sign documents in PDF format with a maximum size of 5 MB free of charge.
  • To sign, you need a plastic ID card with an electronic layer (e-ID). Since March 4, 2019, all ID cards issued have an electronic layer. The ID card has a 6-digit CAN number, visible on the front in the lower right corner.
  • You can save the signed document on your device.
