Report: “Assessment and principles of financing innovative medical devices from public funds – proposed directions for change”
We invite you to read the analytical and research report on innovative medical devices, including digital devices.
The project was carried out by AOTMiT as its own initiative, in cooperation with key organizations representing the medical device sector and as part of extensive consultations.
The proposed directions for change presented in the report were developed on the basis of:
- an analysis of the current legal situation,
- a review of available scientific evidence,
- an analysis of solutions in place in selected countries,
- expert consultations with representatives of key stakeholders in the medical device industry,
- consultations with representatives of public health care institutions,
- cooperation with project partners.
The result of this work is a proposal for scenarios for the assessment and inclusion of innovative medical devices in the list of guaranteed benefits.
The document is of a directional nature and may serve as a basis for further work by the Ministry of Health on the organization of the process of evaluating and including innovative medical devices in the list of guaranteed benefits, while ensuring appropriate standards for the collection and analysis of scientific evidence regarding their safety and effectiveness.
