Recommendation of the President regarding #PPZ #48aa – Prevention of dental caries in children and adolescents

Recommendation No. 42/2025 of October 2, 2025, of the President of the Agency for Health Technology Assessment and Tariff System on recommended medical technologies, activities carried out under health policy programs, and the conditions for implementing these programs, concerning the prevention of dental caries in children and adolescents

The recommendation contains a model solution for a given health problem – Prevention of dental caries in children and adolescents

The recommendation exempts local government units from the obligation to submit a health policy program prepared in accordance with its content for review.

Thus, the recommendation serves as a model for local government units preparing draft programs for this health problem.

The President of the Agency recommends that health policy programs include educational activities for children and adolescents, parents/legal guardians, and future parents attending antenatal classes, as well as dental prevention activities targeting dental caries in children and adolescents from risk groups.

Therefore, from October 2, 2025, in order to prepare PPZs for the prevention of dental caries in children and adolescents, the provisions of Recommendation No. 42/2025 should be taken into account, and then a statement of compliance of the PPZ project with this recommendation should be sent to the Agency pursuant to Article 48aa(11) of the Act.

There is no need to modify the PPZ currently being implemented, which came into force before the publication of recommendation 44/2025. It is not possible to continue future editions of the PPZ in an unchanged form.
