Recommendation of the President #HPP #48aa – Prevention of cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, and hypercholesterolemia
Recommendation No. 192/2025 of 15 December 2025 of the President of the Agency for Health Technology Assessment and Tariff System on recommended medical technologies, activities carried out under health policy programs, and the conditions for implementing these programs, concerning the prevention of cardiovascular disease, hypertension, and hypercholesterolemia
The recommendation is an update of Recommendation No. 15/2020 of 15 December 2020, of the President of the Agency for Health Technology Assessment and Tariff System on recommended medical technologies, activities carried out under health policy programs, and the conditions for implementing these programs, concerning the prevention of cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, and hypercholesterolemia, in accordance with Article 48aa(8) of the Act on healthcare services financed from public funds.
The recommendation contains a model solution for a given health problem – prevention of cardiovascular disease, hypertension, and hypercholesterolemia.
The recommendation exempts local government units from the obligation to submit a health policy program prepared in accordance with its content for review.
Thus, the recommendation serves as a model for programs prepared by local government units to address this health problem.
The President of the Agency recommends that health policy programs include an information campaign aimed at the general population, comprehensive intervention focused on lifestyle modification in adults at risk of cardiovascular disease, and health education for children and adolescents.
The President of the Agency does not recommend the use of other medical technologies and activities within the framework of health policy programs, as well as different implementation conditions than those included in this document.
Therefore, from 15 December 2025, in order to prepare PPZs for the prevention of cardiovascular disease, hypertension, and hypercholesterolemia, the provisions of Recommendation No. 192/2025 should be taken into account, and then send a statement of compliance of the PPZ project with this recommendation to the Agency pursuant to Article 48aa(11) of the Act.
There is no need to modify the currently implemented PPZs that came into force before the publication of Recommendation 192/2025. It is not possible to continue future editions of the PPZ in an unchanged form.
